I consider myself a maker with a ceramic and design background. My process is material-based and grounded in concepts of functional experience and ephemeral phenomena. I reside between art, craft, and design: my studies in the U.S. focused on ceramics and its history within the context of fine art and craft; in Finland they have been focused on design and research within material experimentation. My artistic activities are focused on opportunities to make site, function, and material-specific work playing with form, serendipity, and personal engagement. My projects range from sculptural installations to design products.

My phrases to live by recently:
“Practice what you preach”
“Waste not want not”
“Leave things better than you found them”
