Grapefruit Lamp.2017. HDPE plastic.
Inspired by nostalgic, rosy feelings, the Grapefruit Lamp highlights serendipitous moments in an industrial process of pressing plastic. The pieces are made from heat-pressed HDPE plastic from Coca-Cola crates using metal templates. There are two forms which can be repeated and interlocked to make a lamp of five segments or of twelve. The segments are held together at the top only using tension in a spiral to attach to the lamp cord.
