Cone 017

In Finland temperature is discussed in celsius while in the U.S. ceramicists use cones. Cone 17 describes the very low melting temperature of fusing glass to ceramics. The pieces are examples of different kinds of tests from the one month residency. I used found and waste ceramics for all of the pieces, either found tiles, waster pieces that other pieces were fired on, or waste clay thrown on the wheel. The test pieces are fast and satisfying - I tried not to overthink composition and the firing process itself is very fast at the lower temperature. The results are tasty, sparkly, and strange.
