Cleats & Knots
Primary Container. Swimming Pool Gallery, Berlin, Germany 2022.
This study of small forms was grouped with other pieces related to sailing and the vessel using ceramics and textile mediums. The “ropes” are rim- trimmings from throwing and are rigid forms of their real-life counterparts. The “cleats” imitate metal, but aren’t quite as strong. They represent a middle ground of hard and soft molded from hands and are a tactile love letter to utility. The work utilizes recycled clay and glaze from my own process.
